One of our premier partners in the Milwaukee & Green Bay real estate market is Zillow.com.  Their researchers just completed a study that shows that homes that have a minimum of 15 photos receive 3 times as much exposure than those with 1 picture.

Even in the Wisconsin market – everyday we see listings, even million dollar homes with just one picture.  Unbelievable that their real estate company would do so little to help get their home sold.

Always remember – 90% of ALL BUYERS look at a house online before deciding whether or not they want to see the house in person.  If your house is marketed in every possible way online you’ll get more showings – that’s the bottomline for you!

In today’s world, the internet is everything when selling a home.  In 2010, it’s amazing to see these agents that want a 6% commission to sell a home and they won’t take the time or make the investment to really showcase a home with the proper amount or quality of photos.

At Homegate – we pride ourselves on our photography and virtual tours. All of our listings are showcase listings on Realtor.com and premier listings on Zillow.com – What does this mean for a home seller? It means a home seller will have up to 25 premium photos on these and many other sites as well as an interactive virtual tour.  All of our photos are taken with professional photographic equipment including a premium wide-angle lens so we can capture the whole room in a single image with the crispness and quality every home should have.

Case in point – There’s quite the estate home in Milwaukee for sale right now.  At $5.5 Million – you’d think they’d have a few more pictures.  When I tried to take a look – all I could find is 4 pictures.  I wouldn’t be too happy if I was a home seller and agreed to sign over a commission check of $330,000 when consumers looking at homes will only see 4 pictures.

Also, watch your decor that is placed outside your door so that it remains consistent with the season and change it as often as necessary. If you have live plants or flowers, make sure they are trimmed, watered and healthy looking. If you will be unable to properly care for potted plants or other outdoor decor, its better to keep it bare.
